Just a few hours from now, one of my favourite readathons begins. The 24in48 hour readathon is quite a challenge. As the name suggests, the goal is to complete 24 hours of reading within a 48 hour period. Readers are encouraged to use a timer to record their reading time and to participate on the interwebs along with the community. Of course, there are awesome prices involved.
This will be my fourth time participating in a readathon I have only successfully completed once. But, of course, having fun is the whole point. Grab your snacks, your drinks and your books and join the rest of the community in a weekend of reading, until your eyes hurt and your parents/friends/partner and even yourself wonder why you are doing this to yourself.
Honestly, my reading plan almost always goes to shit. But it’s good fun to make an outline in preparation for the big day. So here is mine (I always prefer to start at the official starting time which here in Greece is 7.00am so I can follow the posts on the 24in48 website):
Saturday:
7:00-10:00: City of Stairs by Robert Jackson Bennett
16:30-19:30 Fool’s Errand by Robin Hobb
20:30-23:30 Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson
Sunday:
00:00-03:00 Ship of Destiny by Robin Hobb
7:00-10:00 City of Stairs by Robert Jackson Bennett
16:00-19:00 Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson
20:00-23:00 Ship of Destiny and Fool’s Errand by Robin Hobb
Monday:
00:00-03:00 Fool’s Errand by Robin Hobb and Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson
This year I’m opting for variety in books and diving into fantasy series. Are you participating this summer? What are your reading plans for tackling the 24in48 challenge?
